ADVAIR (SERETIDE)

Advair Information

Advair is a popular medicine that is also generically known under the name of Seretide. This medicine is known to prevent the release of several substances that are able to sometimes cause inflammation in the patient’s organism. This medicine can also improve the patient’s breathing and relax his or her airway muscles.

Advair Indications

Advair is usually prescribed in the case of patients who are suffering from asthma, as it is highly efficient in preventing asthma attacks. This medicine is unable to stop an attack that has already been triggered, because its actions are not fast enough. This medicine is also widely prescribed in the treatment of patients who are suffering from COPD (also known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a disorder that is associated with another disease: chronic bronchitis. However, Seretide can also be prescribed to treat or to prevent some other medical conditions that have not been listed here. Ask your personal physician for more information.

  1. The company I work for change location last year 2007 and I suddenly developed Bronchitis, coughing etc. After 4 doses of antibiotics, doctor put me on Seritide. It has helped, but I dont like taking it. Now in July 2008 I decided to quit as I am having panic and bouts of nervousness, slight depression and irritablility. I had TB 10 years ago and had similar syptoms on all the meds. I know my body and these syptoms from taking Seritide are very similar and scary. I am going to see what transpires, and if all the mucus returns then go to Doc again and try alternative methods. I do get hayfever and am sensitive to meds generally, but trying to keep positive. I don’t have full blown asthma attacks but the mucus builds up and it was difficult to breathe. Coughed up many chunks phlem and slime. Age 44. Generally very healthy ? Any suggestions help ?
