Propecia Side Effects Explained
Propecia is a drug that is used to fight hair loss in men. Also called Finasteride, it has many risks and side effects that people should be aware of. After intensive study, Propecia was found to decrease sexual desire in 1.8% of males. 1.3% had problems with erection and 1.2% suffered from a decrease in semen volume ejaculated. To put it into perspective while 3.8% of men experiences some kind of sexual side effect, 2.1% of people using a placebo experienced the same problems, so the percentage of people who experienced sexual side effects because of Propecia is relatively small.
Another side effect that some people often complain about is that Propecia causes acne. Many people start taking it because of the self esteem issues that hair loss can cause. The development of acne can compound this problem. It’s interesting to note that there has been no evidence to support the claims that Propecia effects acne so you shouldn’t need to worry.
In addition, it was also found that the side effects are reversible when you stop taking Propecia. It is important to note, however, the Propecia needs to be taken indefinitely to be effective, so if you stop taking it because of these possible side effects, you will lose the benefit of the drug in the first place.
Over the years Propecia has helped thousands of people in their fight against hair loss. Considering the fact that has helped so many people, the number who suffer any serious side effects are pretty small. As with any drug, you should always consult your doctor before taking Propecia. He’ll be best able to consult you an any serious side effects. After you get the all clear from your doctor, don’t be afraid to try it. Who knows? It may be right for you.
I would not recommend this drug to anyone at all because I am experiencing very serious side-effects which are not going away, contrary to what the maker claims. I suggest everyone stay away.

hello,
I’m sorry to hear this. In my experience as a dermatologist I never had patients that complained too much about propecia side effects. Did you do something wrong in taking the pill or did you not followed the doctor’s prescription properly?
